THE CLASS OF 2009 SENIOR CLASS GIFT!
There has never been a class such as the Class of 2009 in the history of Loyola University!
The 2009 Senior Class Gift is truly a special gift - this year's gift is a functional Art Piece that will be unveiled in the fall in the Sculpture Garden. Local Artist David Borgerding of Borgerding Sculpture (www.borgerdingsculpture.net) will design and fabricate the gift - an artistic memorial to the Class of 2009 as well as the Colleges and Universities that accepted Loyola students in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
The top of the bench will be composed of recylced aluminum fashioned in the shape of the Hurricane weather symbol with an engraved dedication from the Class. The recylced steel supports of the bench will be engraved with the names of the 627 Colleges & Universities who accepted Loyola Students after Hurricane Katrina.
Artist Rendering, David Borgerding

Loyola University Seniors have a long tradition of giving a Senior Gift to their alma mater. By organizing and financing a campus project, Loyola seniors leave behind a bit of their personality and a sign of their times that they may visit year after year. Through the Senior Class Gift, this year's graduates thank those that came before them for their contributions and take the first step in becoming part of a legacy of philanthropy at Loyola.
Loyola Senior Classes have united together to give back to the University in a variety of ways. From the Jesuit Ideals Walkway to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, the mark of generations of students that have come before is both evident and everlasting. Becoming part of this tradition shows that the Class of 2009 values the education they received, carries the same spirit and Wolfpack pride of past Loyola classes, and believes in reaching out to give back.
Why is your gift important?
It allows you to:
- Show your pride in Loyola as a soon-to-be graduate. Leave a legacy at Loyola.
- Help Loyola preserve its rich, Jesuit history while building an even brighter future.
How can you give?
Because this is OUR gift and OUR legacy, we need the entire class to participate. Please consider a gift of $20.09 or any amount to support our class gift. Every donation counts!

What was the 2008 senior year gift?
The class of 2008 donated a replica of a New Orleans streetcar to be displayed near Bobet Hall. This gift not only honors and commemorates the graduating class, but it celebrates both the return of Loyola's students and the streetcar to New Orleans. http://www.loyno.edu/news/laag/20090313/1366
