Student studying bible at Loyola

As members of the faculty and staff we support, challenge and educate the minds of our students every day. Annual gifts serve the university and its faculty, staff and students in its efforts to ensure continued academic excellence and a rich Jesuit tradition.
Annual gifts help enhance the educational experience for students through the funding of student focused initiatives. Financial aid, scholarships, student travel to conferences, classroom renovations and technology upgrades are just a few examples of opportunities your gifts supply for students.

Your gifts to Loyola also help provide opportunities for students to gain practical experience and emerge as leaders in the community. The following are just a few examples of programs and initiatives that are made possible in part by donations made to the Annual Fund:

Loyola Corps

Loyola Corps is a program designed to help local businesses rebuild and recover in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by providing businesses with professional services such as consulting, public relations, market research and much more.

Katrina Advice Clinic

Loyola’s Katrina Advice Clinic benefits persons in need of free legal assistance since Hurricane Katrina. Since it was established, our student and staff attorneys have served approximately 1,400 persons in need of free legal advice.

Moot Court Program

The College of Law’s Moot Court team has been repeatedly among the best in the world. In April of 2005, Loyola was the only American school to advance to the final eight at the International Arbitration Commercial Law Moot Court Team Competition.

Masterclasses

This year, American composer John Corigiliano will visit the College of Music and Fine Arts to conduct classes for students studying classical music.

First-Year Experience

First-Year Experience (FYE) is a comprehensive program designed to integrate incoming freshmen academically and socially into the Loyola learning environment. All freshmen participate in a common reading program with a book based on issues centered on social justice, which is followed by small group discussion, a lecture and other activities based on the book.

Gifts impact all areas of the university, from scholarships and exciting outreach initiatives to classroom renovations and faculty research. You have the opportunity to contribute to these efforts by giving to the program of your choice. Your generosity will help increase Loyola’s reputation by strengthening university departments, attracting more students and providing graduates with the essential tools they need to face the challenges ahead.

Roger White

Roger White, associate professor of political science, has been employed by Loyola University for 17 years and he can’t remember a time in which he did not give to the university. “I have been giving to the Betty Fosberg Scholarship for quite sometime. Betty, a retired member of City College has always believed that cultivating the love of learning at Loyola not only strengthens the student but the larger community as well. She wanted to establish a scholarship to give working students a leg up. That’s Betty, always wanting to help hard-working people trying to improve their life.”

Stephanie Jumonville

As a student at Loyola, before she began her career here nearly 15 years ago, Stephanie Jumonville was donating to the Annual fund. She continues this generosity today what she started then. “I support the Law Annual fund to help the students. There is incredible potential for our students to become generous men and women for others in a profession that works to promote a more just world. I expect our graduates to become intelligent and compassionate leaders in communities all over the country and world. Accordingly, I see my gift reaching beyond Loyola, and creating positive changes in the lives of many people.”
