Endowed chairs reward pioneering Loyola faculty members, and provide students with the opportunity to study with expert, excellent teachers. Chair recipients must have a continuing record of scholarly and creative endeavors, show leadership within their academic units, pursue activities which enhance Loyola’s reputation, display innovative teaching, and provide advisement, mentoring, and leadership for their students.
Creating a Chair
$1.2 million is the minimum gift required to establish an endowed chair fund.
Private gifts to chairs are eligible to be matched by the Louisiana Board of Regents at a ratio of 3:2.
Endowed professorships support the work of outstanding faculty, significantly advancing their work as teachers, scholars, and researchers. Professorships are designed to recruit superior new faculty or retain faculty whose research, teaching, or public service have uniquely contributed to the missions of their departments and institutions.

$60,000 is the minimum gift required to establish an endowed professorship fund.
Private gifts to professorships are eligible to be matched by the Louisiana Board of Regents at a ratio of 3:2.
