Build Traditions
Contributing to the Jesuit Vision
The building blocks of Loyola’s 1912 charter were based on strong, Jesuit principles—principles that go back more than 450 years to Saint Ignatius of Loyola. From the beginning, an essential focus of the Jesuits has been excellence in education. It was with this focus that the Jesuits first arrived in New Orleans, eventually establishing what would become Loyola University.
Today, Loyola remains true to its rich Jesuit heritage by continuing to educate the whole person in the Ignatian tradition, teaching students to think critically and act justly, and to be men and women for others. That the university consistently ranks among the top regional colleges and universities in the South and as one of the top 60 in the United States in U.S. News & World Report is just one confirmation that Loyola is an outstanding institution. Year after year, Loyola continues to be nationally recognized for its many accomplishments.
Without the private support of our many contributors, Loyola could not have become the university it is today. The financial support and volunteer involvement Loyola receives from alumni, parents, and friends is an integral part of the university’s success. Your continued participation will be especially crucial as Loyola strives to grow even stronger in the years to come.
